Sunday Mimosas

Todays' event was supposed to be a GLBT fundraiser for the Brian McCann campaign for state rep. Right? The format was a Sunday brunch with appetizers: an excellent garlic hummus, felafels, chips, salsas, and fruits. This was at Steve's house with the bar in the kitchen and the hot tub in the back yard running and ready. Three people attended.

This leaves a campaign or a campaigner with two choices: put the positive spin or tell things as they are. As I understand blogs, this is really a question that predates internet technology. Does a campaign manage news, or create news. Seems to me that one can do either, because it is independent of the technology. So I get to decide.

Today's event was quality. Three excellent neighbors, Phil, Paul, and Bob, made for enjoyable discussion partners. Everyone contributed some money to getting our message out. We had a lovely afternoon. Phil and Paul bonded with Laura about Long Island and Cherry Grove. They laughed and laughed. All Longisland insider stuff as far as I could tell. So we also bonded with Bob. He told Jim Hughes stories and said that the friend and neighbor had morphed into a little George Bush. He was willing to tell that story to his democrat friends. So, we'll run with that.

Laura saved the day. She is the most charismatic person I have ever known. More later.

I just want one thing coming out of the white house. A complete sentance.

I liked it better when the president was the only one getting screwed.

Dick, your daughter is a lesbian. Everyone knows this. Why are you mad?
